Coronavirus (Covid-19) Public Statement
17th March 2020
In light of recent recommendations by the Federal Government, the Committee of Brisbane Pride Choir has made the necessary decision to cancel rehearsals on the 24th of March 2020 and the 31st of March 2020. The Committee agreed that as a community, it is up to us to do what we can to help beat the curve of the coronavirus (Covid-19).
As always, the safety and wellbeing of our members and the broader community is our highest priority, and we will work over these weeks to keep members socially connected while being physically distanced.
Weekly Rehearsals
The next two rehearsals for both Brisbane Pride Choir and Young Pride are cancelled. Determination of rehearsals will be discussed at the next meeting on 31st March 2020.
To better manage the flow of members during this time, the Committee has agreed that it is appropriate to not accept new members for the remainder of the semester. All new members will be welcome to attend rehearsals from Semester 2, 2020, provided the situation has eased.
Next Steps
As the situation is continuously changing, the Committee will be regularly reviewing our practices and decisions made to ensure we do our part protecting our members and our community.
